Harley Duston His Story

Harley Duston
His Story

Harley H. Duston was born to Philander H. Duston and Hannah Duston in December 1869 in Caldwell County, Missouri. He was the third child born to this couple. He had two sisters which were older and two brothers that were younger.
He lived with his parents and siblings near Kingston, and helped with the farming. On September 19, 1899 he joined in marriage with Maude M. Bill of Hamilton, Missouri.
In the census of 1900 he is living in Kingston, with his wife Maude on the farm of his mother-in-law Hannah Sackman.
In the census of 1910, he and wife Maude are living in Hamilton, Missouri and they have 1 child, Lindley who is 6 years of age at this time.
In the census of 1920 Harley, Maude and Lindley are living in Berryville, Arkansas and they own their own home.
In the census of 1930 he and wife Maude and son Lindley are again living with, Maude’s mother, this time in Berryville, Arkansas, and the mother-in-law is again widowed.  Harley is listed as doing general farm work. It seems that only one child born to them. By the time of the census of 1940, Harley is divorced and living in Prairie, Arkansas, still doing farm work, but renting his home.
The find a grave site, has his death in 1944, and being buried in the Kingston Cemetery, Caldwell Co. Missouri. It lists his year of birth on this site as 1878, but all of the census have him born in 1869-70, so think this is the most correct of the information.
