2009 Piano Guild Performance

The big day has arrived.  Rachelle has been preparing for the annual Piano Guild Exam since she started taking lessons from Khoren last Fall in 2008.  Her teacher expected great things from Rachelle and has not been disappointed.  Originally, Rachelle was scheduled to play 10 pieces from memory.  Because of school projects and other demands on her time, Rachelle played 9 pieces and her scales/arpeggios.

She arrived 15 minutes early to warm up and calm her nerves.  The judge was a pleasant "grandmotherly" type and put Rachelle at ease.  She performed beautifully and received top marks and excellent comments from the judge.  Below you will find a list of the songs she played.  After clicking on a song, hit the back button to take you back to this journal entry.  You won't want to miss any.  My husband, Layne recorded these songs on Mother's Day 2009.

Bach- Praeludium, No. 14

Debussy- Doctor Gradus Ad Parnassum

Mendelssohn- Op. 102 Presto

Rachelle's favorite one is the Toccata.
