Holiday Traditions

Holiday traditions.... that involved my Mom who is no longer there to continue them with me. So my favorite tradition has ended.  Mom and I were sorority sisters - Pi Beta Phi's.  Our mascot is the angel.  So every Christmas since I joined in 1987 and was initiated we gave each other Angel gifts and signed the cards "Love Sis."

Mom was a Pi Beta Phi at the University of Gerogia in the 1960's and I was one at Auburn in the 1980's.  Last Christmas was my first Christmas without my Mom and without our Angel gifts. I didn't even put up a tree. I just could not deal with the holiday at all.

I think I will begin a new tradition where I will purchase an Angel ornament of some sort to put on the tree in Mom's memory.  That will help fill the void.

Christmas is just going to be tough for a while as it was Mom's favorite holiday.  But I think she will approve of the new revised tradition that will start this year.

I couldn't agree more Suzanna. I feel your loss and hope that a bit of that massive canyon is filled each year going forward. I feel like hugging you after reading this.
