Cousin Charlie remembered a time when Henry James came in from the field with a loaded  and with the trigger cocked 3? 5?  gaged shotgun on his shoulder.  Charlie took it from him and remarked "that\'s how kids get killed".  Henry, when told of Charlie\'s account, filled in the rest of the story.  Henry confessed that he had taken the gun from the house without permission. He had gone into the woods to shot it.  When he fired the gun it kicked him backwards against a tree, "knocking the crazy" out of him.  So when he returned to the house he was in daze, cocked gun and all.
