Bill and Ramona Rust

Bill & Ramona Rust live at the top of what was known as "Rust's Hill."  Those of you lucky enough to have lived in Salem in the 40's and 50's would remember that was where you went to sleigh ride.

Bill and Ramona became high school sweethearts and through the years have raised 5 well educated children plus one Navajo foster son.  They have 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with two more waiting to arrive.

Bill has served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict and after return home, he received his Masters Degree in speech pathology and spent most of his professional career helping handicapped children.

He retired as director of Human Resources Department for Nebo School District.  Ramona worked in the Provo School District as secretary to the President.  Prior to her retirement, she was secretary to the superintendent of Provo School District for 13 years.  Later she was the accountant in the family owned Hamilton Bro's Electric Co.

During her spare time, she took care of 6 children plus her husband and somewhere in there she kept more than 40 journals of her thoughts, pictures, and memories.

Bill has served on the Salem City Council, the Volunteer Fire Department, Planning & Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustments.  Bill & Ramona served on the Library Board that helped establish the library here in town.  That is just a few of their accomplishments.  If you don't know the Rusts . . . you should.
