New Year's Resolution

I, like so many other people, am going to start fresh commitments, or renew old ones, for the start of this new year.  My hope is to concentrate on goals that will better myself, and renew my commitment to learn more about my ancestors and who they really were through personal stories as well as what was going on at the time they lived.  I also want to relate personal stories as well as I can recall of my own memories so my children, grandchildren, and future generations will know who I am.

May we all try to live a life that when we are gone, those left behind will look upon the imprint we have left and confirm we contributed to those around us for the betterment of all.  That our life on this earth was meaningful and that we left it a better place because we were here.

Our ancestors are certainly worthy of being remembered, and if we don't record our own stories of values and experiences for our posterity, it will only be just over two generations before we will be forgotten. Gone but not forgotten is the whole purpose of preserving our legacies, including how the values and experiences of those who have gone before have affected our own lives.
