LAURA CARTON HER STORY

Laura Carton

Her Story

     Laura J. Catron was born on Feb, 18,1862 in Caldwell County ,North Carolina to parents John Randolph and Elizabeth Ann (Dula) Catron.  By the census of 1870 they were living in Grant Twsp, Caldwell Co. Missouri.  She was child number 8 of 9.

        John her father died in 1873, and in the census of 1880 we find that she and sister Sophia, and brother Mathias were living in Kidder , Missouri with mother Elizabeth.

          In 1890 Laura Catron married Jerome Harvey Netcher 1859-1934.  He was born in Illinois, and the son of George and Ann (Benson) Netcher.  They lived in Kidder Mo. In 1880

        On the census of 1900 Laura and husband Jerome had a total of 5 children at this time. They had moved to Mooresville, Livingston Co. Mo. and lived on a farm.

        In the census of 1910 Cameron , Mo. was the home of Laura and the 5 children and she was listed as head of household. Although she listed self as married.

         In the census of 1920 the family were living at Shoal, Clinton Co. Mo. And husband Jerome was again listed as head of household.  Three of the younger children Amber, Opal and Russell were living at home at the time.

        In the census of 1930 Laura and Jerome were living in Wyandotte Co. Kansas with daughter Ruby and husband, 1 grandchild, and daughter Pearl and her husband.

       Laura (Catron) Netcher died in 1932 and is buried in Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, Mo.  Her husband Jerome died in 1934 and also is buried in Highland Cemetery ,Hamilton, Mo.
