A Janisch Cousin brought me to this lovely country cemetery. We found many ancestors. When I remarked on that face, my cousin told me I was related to almost everyone in the cemetery. When I started looking for ancestors I had no idea I would end up finding so much more.  It is my niche in the world, I decided, to find ancestors.  I get a feeling for what kind of family I am looking for and where they might go next.  Sometimes it takes a long time.  Sometimes I find people relatively fast.  Every discovery is as fresh, fun and amazing as the last.  Many of the clients I have worked with are still friends.  Even though I have never met them.

That was the best thing I found other than ancestors.  I have found friends and cousins.  People that I go to for help and share family photos and stories with.  I would not know half as much about my family if it weren't for the wonderful people I have met.  I have camped with a third cousin from Canada.  I have met with a second cousin in a family I never knew I had.  I have a houseful of pictures, framed and unframed, and many collectibles.

I have decided that I am really no good at making money, but great at finding things.  So right now I am just happy to search for my own ancestors and share what I have found with my cousins.  It is more fun to find than to bill.  My husband has all along known this, and he has rolled his eyes everytime  I say I am helping someone.  But that is what I most want to do.  I would like to have a chance to make a person happy to know who they are and where they come from.

Even the bad things most of the time turn out good.  It doesn't matter.  What matters it to know.  So I am available at my Surname Group.  If you need a little help to get started, just give me an email.
